Video for Marketing? Why Video?

     Ever wonder why Video nowadays is becoming the primary medium to promote products, engage audiences and boost businesses? Simple, its easy to remember plus watching a video takes much less time than reading a loooong post. This is especially true for someone who has a shorter attention span. 
​
​​         Videos can really help you build more connection to your audience! ​

​So here are effective ways to create a a kick-ass video!
​

1. ​ENERGY / AURA

  ​ We are now living in a fast-paced era, and it only makes sense to know how to grab someone’s attention in your video. But! There is a huge but there - keeping their attention is a different story! No matter how much value you are catering to the audience, this has to come first.
​    Ever been in a class where the teacher is so boring? Even if it is your favorite subject, nothing will just stick! Delivery is very important. So be prepared! Shout before you start recording, and keep that high energy all throughout.


​​2. TOPIC STRUCTURE

     ​This is a no brainer. If you know your topic is great, follow a structure on how to present it:

  • Introduce Yourself!
    In all videos you create, consider the possibilities of where it can and will be played; or how many countries it will reach. Make use of the opportunity to tell people who you are and what you do. This is how you do branding!
  • Call Out Your Market!
    Tell your audience who the video is for. {why? Explain how the call out works}
  • Capitalize On Pain Point
    State about an issue, or problem your target audience may encounter from their dau-to-day lives or simply tell a story or scenario about the topic.
  • Give Them Your Unique Solution!
    How can you and only you, solve their pain?
  • Give Your Testimonial.
    Personalize! Tell your audience what you like and what you didn’t. This will help your audience build trust. This will prompt or encourage them to act and trust your advise.
  • Say Your Goodbyes!
    (TELL THEM, ILL SEE YOU NEXT TIME)
    Let people know you have more to offer, that the value you have doesn’t end with the video.

​3. LIGHTING/ AUDIO

​​   Okay… who wants to watch something that doesn’t have a nice setup? Ensure that you have picture perfect clear light!  Also make sure there’s no background noise and the audio is clear!
​
These are little things that captures the eye and it is very important to pay attention to.

​4. QUALITY (Record in HD!!)

    ​​​We are visual creatures and sometimes even before someone even tries to watch your video they will check how it looks on the outside first. It’s a natural thing that we don’t need to over emphasize. Ever heard of the saying “the way you dress is how you will be addressed”?
 
    Let me give you an example, if you have a list of videos, how do you decide which one to watch first? Without ever knowing what the video content really is, people will always pick which video has a really nice thumbnail; and a video with crisp, vibrant and eye catching appearance. 

​5.  3 SEC RULE

​The first 3 secs of your video is a deal breaker if people are going to keep watching it or not. Remember when I said people are fast paced nowadays? Yes?
 
I know, we are not perfect, nobody is, we all know that. But your video doesn’t have to be. If there are moments wherein you made a mistake, cut it. There should be no idle 3 seconds in your video.

7. PUT THE SAUCE (MUSIC!!!)

     ​So… you want your audience to pick-up what you’re saying? You want them to absorb the content as how you have presented it? What’s the secret? MUSIC.
​     Music sets up the mood, it hypes the emotion, it gives people the adrenaline you want them to have. Cook it like you mean it!


​​8. HAVE FUN

     Last but not the least, matter of fact, the most important ingredient! Have fun, loosen up, enjoy every bits and pieces when you create your videos. No matter how many times you make a mistake, its normal! Keep it light and keep it going. (you can cut the bad parts anyways!
